No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability day after day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and our children.
Through shelter, we empower. At Manatee Habitat, this is what unites us. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Because you, me, we - we're all humans. And every single one of us deserves the opportunity for a better future.
Yesenia Garcia-Lorenzano's story begins with immigrating to the United States from Mexico with her family to work in the seasonal harvest. From a young age, she knew she had to persevere and overcome many barriers to have a better life. She is now a Habitat homeowner and professionally helps families as a Client Service Specialist at STEP UP Suncoast. She is a role model of strength, stability, and self-reliance; and is the recipient of Manatee Habitat's Achievement Award. Meet Yesenia and hear her story at the International Women’s Day Luncheon March 8. Get tickets here.
