Home set for demolition stripped of valuables
A group of Longboat Island Chapel parishioners and other volunteers are working to strip interior valuables from an Emerald Harbor home that’s set for demolition Friday.

The volunteers are working with Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore division, which takes any usable furnishings and interior appliances and sells them, using the money to build new homes.

ReStore’s Manatee County division has helped keep 500,000 usable products out of the Manatee County landfill this year alone.
