2012- 2013Women Build
In September 2012 women volunteers from Manatee County will begin building the future home of the Ana Reyes and her family, launching our first Women Build in over 5 years! We have started working to reach our goal of $100,000 to build a 4 bedroom, platinum rated energy star efficient, Leed Certified “Green” Habitat home. Partnering with our local Lowe’s Home Improvement Center we plan to offer opportunities for women of all skill levels and interest to unite in an effort to end substandard housing in our community.

Ana Reyes is the single mother of 5 children that range in age from 2 yrs. to 14 yrs. Ana manages to work full time, hold two part-time jobs and care for her children. You can see Ana regularly at the jobsite completing her sweat equity hours and always with a smile on her face. Ana gives credit to her faith in God for her perseverance and is grateful for her children, their health and continued safety. Ana and her children are looking forward to their new home, with more room, greater privacy and a safe neighborhood in which to live.
