
Applying for Habitat Programs
If you are a first time homebuyer you may qualify for the Manatee Habitat Homebuyer Program. We are accepting applications now for future home buyers in our newest community called Hope Landing in Ellenton, Florida.
You may qualify for Manatee Habitat Homebuyer Program if:
- You have lived and worked in Manatee County for the past year.
- Your current housing is unsafe, overcrowded, poorly-maintained, transitional or unaffordable.
- You have regular, verifiable income and meet Habitat’s income guidelines
- You are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity to earn sweat equity hours building your home and the homes of your future neighbors.

Do you need help with repairs to your home? Manatee Habitat now has a program for qualified homeowners in Manatee County called “A Brush with Kindness.” The program enables homeowners to partner with Habitat volunteers to work on short term exterior home repair projects for their home.
Eligible repairs include scraping, caulking and painting homes, minor roof and siding, yard clean up/junk removal, door/window /porch repair and building ramps. Some funding is available in designated communities in Manatee County to cover the cost of materials.
Homeowners must own and occupy thier home, be current on homeowner insurance and taxes and meet Habitat income qualifications. Click here for “A Brush with Kindness (ABWK)” application.
