Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a hands-on, ecumenical, nondiscriminatory, Christian housing ministry with unique features:
  • PARTNERSHIP:  Homeowners and volunteers build together.
  • NO PROFIT AND NO INTEREST:  Homeowners are charged no interest on their mortgage and Habitat makes no profit on the sale.
  • PRIVATE FUNDING:  Funding sources include principle payments from homeowners, individuals, churches, corporations, service groups and private foundations.  Limited government partnership is appreciated in the form of acquisition of land, streets, sidewalks, and services. Families also recieve State Housing Initative Programs (SHIP) funds to assist with downpayment and closing costs.
